The cavalry’s charge had been devastating, yet more, much more, was needed to calm the anger of the warriors of Vile-Tis. The fray was terrifying. Suddenly a sublime and sovereign voice rose above the din and dominated the fury of combat, not with its power, but with its majesty: it was the voice of a bardess riding an imposing warhorse.
In Confrontation the mounted bard of Alahan represents an important support force. In Rag’Narok she grants her many special capacities to cavalry Units. Endowed with a POW of 4 and the capacity to allow Lion Characters within 10 cm or less of her to re-roll their tests, this warrior-mage has traded her throwing daggers for the “War-horse,” “Righteous” and “Master strike/0” abilities. Once per game the bardess is also able to perform a minstrel’s master strike that can inflict horrible wounds onto the toughest of opponents.
And finally, her martial faculties are strengthened by two spells: “Song of Injury,” which allows the STR of friendly fighters nearby to be increased, and “Verse of Negation,” which allows bards of Alahan to absorb any type of magic with their gems of Light.
