1.
Buying factories at the auction
In each round a different player is the auctioneer and auctions off factories. These bring points and produce raw materials. The auctioneer can choose: to accept the highest bid and take the money; or to take the factory himself for free. But then the next player takes charge of the auction.
2.
Building factories
Put your markers on the game board and build your empire. This costs money and raw materials, but they are in short supply so you need to manage your resources well. Linked factories bring valuable extra points.
The possibility of still earning bonus points at the end keeps the game exciting - right up until the end.
