The Goblins worship Rat and to them rats are sacred animals. But the rats do not know this and continue behaving like the rodents that they are. That’s why, in order to give their cities a semblance of salubriousness without having to kill the rats, the Goblins have developed gases that help to chase the vermin out of the city. Some make the cheeky remark that if it really worked, then there wouldn’t be a soul living in Klûne, the Goblin capital. But this system is in fact efficient. So much so that in their treachery the Goblins have designed other gases that they use to sow confusion on the battlefields.
