During their conversion to the cult of Mid-Nor, the Dwarves’ internal organs are removed and replaced by a magic substance with protective qualities. The organs are then placed in little Canopic dolls. These are bound to the Dwarves of which they contain the organs.
Transporting the Canopic dolls onto the battlefields, the Gallows-Bearers assure the Despot perfect control over the troops engaged in the confrontation.
